Been a while since I’ve posted
Sorry it’s been a while since I last posted. Life has been busy and lots of good things have been happening, so I’ll share some of it with you!
First off, the free Trash the Dress session promotion is going very well. I have several people intending to shoot, we are just waiting for the weather to decide it wants to warm up a bit. It’s just too cold to do most of the shoot ideas at the moment. Some of the ideas we have planned are 4 wheeling, mudding, getting muddy in the creek and one who wants to do something involving a tractor-trailer rig. Should be fun! Contact me to get your planning underway!
Please don’t forget to vote for Jaded Perfection Photography as best photographer in the Lewis County Herald’s Reader’s Choice Awards! PIck up a copy of the Lewis County Herald or go to www.lewisherald.com to vote! hanks for your help!
My trip to the Columbus/Atlanta GA area is coming up next week. I am booking shoots for when I am in the area. Columbus is from the 9th-12th of March, and I still have some shoot slots left. If you are interested, let me know and I’ll get you the rate info for the sessions and get your session booked. Atlanta will be on the13th and 14th of March, and is booked solid. I have several shoots there, including some commercial work for two separate salons
The last item of business is actually completely separate from my photography. I have decided to run for a seat as a county Commissioner for District 6 in Lewis Co., TN. I picked up all the necessary paperwork yesterday to fill out, and will begin getting names for my nomination petition tomorrow! Wish me luck!
I hope you are all doing well, and I would love to hear from you all if you ever have any questions, want to schedule a shoot or just wanna chat! Until next time, take care!

Class of 2011 – Senior Portrait Time is Coming!
Although it still seems early in the year to start thinking about it, it is time to start getting ready for the all-important Senior portraits! Although you are only halfway through your Junior year, many upcoming Seniors have their portraits done before the end of the school year, and the rest over the summer break. Most school yearbook committees require photos to be included in the yearbook be submitted in the fall, so you need to have things completed by then.
Another good reason to start planning early is to be able to get the best opportunities for unique photos. You don’t want someone else getting to your great shoot idea first! If you start earlier in the year, it gives you the ability plan sessions during different seasons if you are wanting to do outdoors photos. Winter can provide snow and ice, and spring provides colorful flowers. Summer? Lush greens and the ability to get in the water. And fall offers bright reds, oranges and yellows. Careful planning will make the most of your sessions.
Why get photos that look the same as everyone elses? Do you really want photos taken with the same old truck, swing or mirror that many have gotten over the past several years? Try something new! Sessions with Jaded Perfection Photography run more like a fashion shoot than senior portraits. Have a great time and get some unique images that show off yourself and your personality. Senior portraits only happen once for you, why not make it a memorable experience?
Senior portrait sessions with Jaded Perfection Photography begin at only $145. All packages include some prints, a trifold folio, no set number of outfit changes, and the ability to shoot either in the studio, on location, or both without unreasonably high minimum purchases! You also have the ability to split your session, allowing you to have photos taken during different weather or seasonal conditions. You can’t find flexibility like this with other photographers in the area. Ladies, if you need drapes photos done, I have a black drape.
Full rate sheets are now available. You can get yours by emailing to admin@jpphotog.com with a subject line of ‘Senior’. Please include your name and your school name, that way I can check with your school for yearbook photo requirements and deadlines.
Once you have received the rate sheet, you can call (931) 306-8678 or send another email to schedule your personal consultation. At this free consultation we will go over all the rates, answer any questions you may have, and start planning the session.
So, Class of 2011….let me hear ya! Hit me up on the email machine and lets get this thing started up!

Will Spring EVER Get Here??
Don’t get me wrong. I love snow and all, but really?!? Half of the US has seen more snow than ever in a single winter, and I think some places have probably even gotten some for the first time. I have a brother stationed up in Aberdeen in Maryland, I think they have almost 4 FEET of snow on the ground right now, with another snowstorm scheduled for early next week!
I guess I’m just tired of it being cold all the time. What happened to global warming, anyway? Sounds pretty welcome at the moment! I just looked up the forecast for here, and while it’s not as bad as some places….it is nowhere near warm!
Forectast for : Hohenwald, TN -

Booking Columbus, GA sessions for March 9th-12th!
All of you from the Columbus, GA area who have been asking when I am coming back down, here it is!
I will be in town from the 9th until about the 13th or 14th of March, 2010. I am taking limited bookings for shoots while I am there. Shoots are available on the 9th-12th ONLY, and will be limited in number, so the sooner you book the more likely you are to get a slot!
Shoots will be location only, but we can do them nearly anywhere in the Columbus/Phenix City/Fort Benning area. Some locations good for shoots include the Riverwalk, the Uptown area, the gardens at the Columbus Museum, and the Trade Center. If you have somewhere you want to shoot, let me know so I can make sure to make arrangements if needed.
The special rates for the shoots will not be advertized, but will be very reasonable. If you are interested, contact me via email at admin@jpphotog.com or message me on Facebook or MySpace, and I will let you know about the rates and we can start planning!
Remember, I am only there for a short time, and slots are VERY limited! Looking forward to seeing Columbus again, I miss you guys!

Announcing FREE Trash the Dress Sessions!
I think I have lost my mind. I love doing these types of shoots so much that starting now, I will do Trash the Dress sessions for free until further notice! This includes wedding dresses and prom dresses, or any other formal wear for that matter. Wanna trash a tux? Go ahead!
“Trash my dress? Are you crazy?” Nope, not at all!
Brides, why pay lots of money to have it cleaned and preserved? It’s going to sit on a closet shelf or in an attic for the rest of it’s life. Your daughter is NOT going to wear your dress in 20-30 years. Would you have worn your mothers?
Prom dresses aren’t much different. The styles change from year to year. Nobody wants to wear a dress twice, and everybody wants their own look, not one somebody else has worn.
So why not trash it? Come on, get that thing out of the closet, put in on, fix yourself up one more time in it…..and make some more exciting memories in it! There is no limit to the creative ways you can make this happen, and it will cost you nothing! Shoots are only limited by your creativity, and they do not have to involve completely destroying the dress. It all revolves around wearing formal attire in unusual circumstances. The level you take it is entirely up to you. Some possible shoot ideas:
-Get it wet! Swimming pools, ponds, cricks, rivers, fire hydrants, water guns. How bout Nashville Shores?
-Get it dirty! Mud riding, auto repair (think muscle cars), out in the woods. Mud wrestling?
-Get it colorful! Paintball, tye-dye, paint the house. Got kids? Have them finger paint it.
-Wear it somewhere unusual. Wear it at work, at a theme park, horseback riding, out at the bar. Just have fun!
-Get totally trashed! Shred it, cut it in pieces, burn it (not with you in it of course). Completely do it in!
Of course, it’s all up to you!
So what do you get with this free shoot? You get one hour of shoot time, 15 web sized images with the studio watermark (like the one below), and tons of unforgettable memories with your dress in one final hoorah! Plus, you will be semi-famous! I will blog each shoot one here, Facebook and Myspace!
This free shoot doesn’t include any prints, but they are available for purchase at the standard print rate. Due to the shoots being free, I must limit the range of the location shoots to about 30 miles from Hohenwald, TN. An exception to this may be possible for shoots in the Nashville or Atlanta areas, but you will have to be willing to wait until I am in the area on other business to do the shoot.
Why am I doing this, you ask? I’m a very non-traditional photographer. I love new trends, and I love to have a great time. The Trash the Dress trend has been building for the last few year, but has yet to take hold in the Nashville area. I hope to help it catch on, with your help. So, are you ready to get that dress out and get trashed?? Contact me at admin@jpphotog.com to let me know you are interested, and we will start plotting against your dress! I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

Photo of the Day, February 8th, 2010 – 10 Min Blizzard
So this afternoon it decided to snow like I have never seen before. It lasted only a short time, but it dumped over an inch in about 20 min and the snowflakes were the size of silver dollars and plopped when they landed. It began raining afterward, and it is all slush now.
